Today I heard Chris Evans talking of his aversion to jewellery.

He said it was like a phobia and he didn’t know why he had it.

Later, on my way to work, I thought to start with this program, you know.

I know the answer to that question - and many others - about self exploration and self discovery.

So, what I am saying is this: you can come with any questions you have, but it has to be about yourself. And I will suggest things which might be helpful.

But I am going to do it in my own pace.

You know the problem with the radio talk shows* is that it causes stress.

I tell you why. Years ago I was doing a sort of community job and was offered to do a training course in community radio.

Now, everyone liked my voice, but the problem for me was that they got me stressed.

This was because when you talk on radio they want you to speak as many words within a minute as it possibly can fit**. So you end up being constantly ahead of yourself.

That’s why Chris Evans not only sounds so stressed but actually is so stressed.

Now as for jewellery I used to wear earrings until last July.

Then all of the sudden my mother died with no warning***.

Since then I can’t wear earrings and have become very particular about the size of the two rings I wear as well. They have to be light and small.

So the answer to Chris’s question is: you must be in a deep grief mate, something that shocked you once and from which you haven’t recovered yet.

Why I am saying this is because metals have a magnetic effect on the body. They help one to stay in the present time****.

So the reason you hate it is because you either are in the past regarding your grief or you’re ahead of yourself because of the stress caused by your training in fast talking.

How to solve the problem?

Take ½ - 1 hour time every day just for your self, switch off your mobile, lock your bedroom door and put on some dangling earrings on, looking at the mirror and say very slowly: I am Chris Evans. I am learning to unlearn fast-talking and love to like jewellery. I am going to be the first slow talking dangling earrings wearing showman in Britain.

Next time I am going to talk about why 28% of British people live alone. Unless you have a problem you want me to analyse and give you a c lue about how it could be solved?

* This word can’t be right as it is about a visual event. How about radio jabbers or radio through hat talk? Or radio box chatters? Or boxing hatters? Or jabbing through one’s hat on radio box chat with the boxing hatters?

**The reason for this is - for one- that time is money and – for two – because they think if your face is not seen, people could get bored. There suppose to be no pause between two sentences.
But as a musician I can tell you pause is as important as the beat you hear. So pause has a rhythm that you don’t hear but feel.

There is of course a slow radio talker who bores you to death, but that’s because his voice is greasy and irritating, and also because of what he says is of no consequence.
With other words if your talk is meaningless you have to speak fast but if meaningful slow does it. Or just natural pace whatever the subject determines.

*** May 2008: Here I meant physical warning and not the mental warning.

**** Also in Chinese Medicine metal relates to the lungs. Lungs are susceptible to dryness and relate to the emotions of grief/sadness.
